Essentials
In "Essentials" David Edwards, a prominent liberal Anglican, engages in dialogue with John Stott, a leading evangelical and also an Anglican. Basing himself mainly on John Stott's written work David Edwards looks at the main points of convergence, difference and misunderstanding - and Dr. Stott responds with equal care. The main subjects examined are the "infallibility" or "inerrancy" of Scripture, the meaning of the cross, miracles and in particular the virgin birth and the resurrection; the use of the Bible in social ethics; the future of humanity and the concept of judgement; and finally the essence of the Gospel for today.
