To doubt is to be in two minds
"To doubt is to be in two minds."
"Faith is much more than the absence of doubt,
but to understand doubt is to have a key to a quiet heart & a quiet mind."
Doubt is everyone's problem. But it is a special problem for Christians because of the premium placed on God's truthfulness. Some doubts gnaw unconsciously at the root of faith; some so clamor for attention that they keep us awake at night.
How should each of us deal with doubt? Ignore it, worry about it, suppress it? Or acknowledge it, get to its roots and resolve it? Os Guinness opts for the latter and shows us how. In a personal and practical way he discusses seven basic kinds of doubt and suggests ways each can be resolved -once and for all.
Os Guinness is a writer now living in London. Educated at the University of London, he has worked with Francis Schaeffer at L'Abri Fellowship in Switzerland and has lectured to student groups in Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia. When his first book, The Dust of Death, was published, Eternity magazine acclaimed it the "most significant book of the year."
